Stone Veneers and Facades in Dallas-Fort Worth

Natural and manufactured stone veneer on home facades, columns, outdoor kitchen and fireplace surrounds, and accent walls, set on a proper substrate so the face stays tight for decades.

Stone veneer is the layer that gives a house its face. We install natural and manufactured veneer across DFW on home facades, entry columns, the surrounds on outdoor kitchens and fireplaces, and interior and exterior accent walls. It is a thin stone face set over a structural backing, so you get the look of full masonry at a fraction of the weight and cost, on a wall that was never built to carry solid stone.

On material, the two families are natural stone veneer, cut thin from real stone like limestone, fieldstone, and ledgestone, and manufactured veneer, which is cast concrete colored and shaped to look like stone. Natural reads as the real thing because it is, and it weathers without fading. Manufactured costs less, comes in consistent sizes that go up faster, and the better lines hold their color well. In our climate both work, but the freeze-thaw swings and hard summer sun are what separate a good product from a cheap one, so we steer you to lines that have held up on DFW homes rather than whatever is on sale.

The veneer lasts or fails on what is behind it, not the stone you see. A facade set straight on sheathing with no drainage plane traps water, and in a few seasons you get staining, efflorescence, and stone pulling loose. We build the wall the right way: a weather-resistant barrier, lath fastened into structure, a proper scratch and setting bed, flashing at every opening and transition, and weep screed at the base so any water that gets behind the stone has a way out. That detailing is the whole job, and it is the part most cut-rate installs skip.

Most veneer work ties into the rest of the yard. A fireplace or outdoor kitchen surround should carry the same stone as the facade and the retaining walls, and the veneer on a raised wall often sits right above a new paver patio, so one crew setting all of it keeps the stone matched and the timeline together. We install stone veneer and facades across Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, and Frisco, residential and commercial. Every project starts with a free on-site estimate with samples brought to the property so you see the stone against your house.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Natural veneer is real stone cut thin, so it reads as the real thing and weathers without fading, at a higher cost. Manufactured veneer is cast concrete made to look like stone, costs less, and goes up faster in consistent sizes. Both hold up here when the wall behind them is built right. We bring samples of both to the estimate.

Installed veneer usually runs $20 to $45 per square foot depending on natural versus manufactured stone, the height and access of the wall, and how much flashing and prep the substrate needs. A facade accent or a single surround lands lower; a full house facade runs higher. We measure on site and quote a fixed price.

Almost always water behind the stone with no way out. A veneer set without a weather barrier, flashing at the openings, and a weep screed at the base traps moisture, and you get staining, efflorescence, and stone pulling off the wall. We build the drainage detailing in so that does not happen.

Usually yes. Over most exterior sheathing or solid masonry we install a weather barrier and lath, or bond directly to sound masonry, then set the veneer. We check the wall first to confirm it is sound and detail the flashing so the new face sheds water instead of holding it.
