An outdoor fountain in Fort Worth runs from about $2,500 for a cast stone tiered fountain on a basin up to $12,000 or more for a built wall or spillover feature in stone. Most are pondless and recirculating: the water drops into a hidden reservoir and a pump sends it back up, so there is no standing pond to keep clean. We set them as a focal point at a front entry, in a courtyard, or on a patio on the larger Tanglewood and west-side lots.

Material is the look. Cast stone gives you a formal tiered fountain at the lower end of the budget. Natural stone reads heavier and more permanent and fits the native stone vernacular across Fort Worth, where limestone is already part of so many homes. Concrete sits in between and takes a finish. Placement decides how it sounds: a fountain tucked into a courtyard or against an entry wall carries the water sound back to you, while one in the open spreads it thin.

The pump, the basin, and the plumbing are what make a fountain last. We size the pump to the height of the spill, run the line clean, and set the reservoir on a stable base. On the west side the shallow limestone usually gives a firm base, while the heat is the bigger factor here: west-county exposure runs hot, so a fountain loses water to evaporation faster and you top it off more in summer. For our few hard freezes, we show you how to shut it down and drain the pump so it does not crack.

Upkeep is light: top off the water in the heat, and clear the basin and pump screen a couple of times a season so it runs clean. A fountain pairs well with an outdoor fireplace or the rest of our patio stonework when you are building out a courtyard or an entry.
