Spa and Water Features by Lalo's Tile & Coping

Spas and water features are some of the hardest-working tile in your backyard. Hotter water, stronger chemical concentration, bigger temperature swings, and pumps that run around the clock.

Tile fails on these features faster than on the main pool, and the damage shows immediately, since spas and fountains sit right at eye level.

We retile and repair spas (raised or in-ground), fountains, water walls, sheer descents, scuppers, and integrated pool water features. Whether it's a quick patch on a fountain that's lost a few tiles or a full retile of a raised spa with new mosaic, we handle the full scope.

Common issues we see on DFW spas and fountains: tile coming off the raised walls, since the freeze-thaw cycle is brutal on raised features, grout failure on the bench seating, mineral deposits on fountain spillways, and tile damage where a feature spills back into the pool. We've seen most of it.

We work with glass mosaic, porcelain, and natural stone. Mosaic patterns are popular on spas, where the visibility makes a small upgrade go a long way.

For fountains and water walls, we match the existing pool look or design something that becomes a focal point. We bring samples to your property.

Spa and fountain tile is often where we get called when another contractor's pool job has issues. Tile that releases from a spa is usually a sign the install wasn't right for the conditions. We tear out the bad work, prep the surface properly, and set fresh tile with adhesive and grout rated for spa-temperature water.

We cover all of DFW. Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, Southlake, Highland Park. Free on-site assessment.

What our clients say

Lalo is super knowledgeable and helpful. He's always answered all my questions and been my go-to guy for anything pool related. Can't recommend him enough.

Homeowner, Dallas TX

These guys did our whole pool retile in four days. Showed up on time every morning, cleaned up every evening. The pool looks better than when it was new.

Homeowner, Plano TX

We've used Lalo's on three builds now. They just get it done. No drama, no excuses. That's hard to find with subs.

Pool Builder, DFW

Lalo came out himself to look at our coping. Didn't try to upsell us on stuff we didn't need. Just told us what needed fixing and gave us a fair price.

Homeowner, Fort Worth TX

Had another company do our tile and it started falling off after one summer. Lalo's crew came in, tore it out, and redid the whole thing. Should have called them first.

Homeowner, Garland TX

Honest people, quality work. That's it. That's the review.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Hotter water, more concentrated chemistry, more temperature swings, and the smaller surface area means each tile takes more stress. Spas built without spa-rated install methods often see tile failure within 5 to 10 years.

Yes, most homeowners want that match. We source matching or complementary tile and grout. If your original tile is discontinued, we'll find the closest options or design a coordinated update.

It depends on the size of the spa and the material you pick. Fountain and water feature repairs vary the same way. We'll come out and give you a real number.

For small tile patches, often just partial drain. For full retiles, yes, the spa needs to be completely drained and dry. We handle all of that and coordinate with your pool service.
