Patios

A tired, cracked, or bare backyard doesn't get used. A patio changes that. It's one of the biggest changes you can make to how your backyard feels and how much you actually spend time in it.

We build and replace patios across the metro in two material families: pavers and natural stone. Which one is right comes down to look, budget, and how much upkeep you want. We tell you straight which fits your yard at the estimate.

Pavers are the practical, flexible pick for our soil. They come in a wide range of colors and patterns, with brick pavers giving a classic warm look.

A poured slab cracks in a hard line when the ground shifts. Pavers move independently and stay tight, and a damaged paver lifts out and gets replaced without touching the rest of the patio.

Natural stone is the custom, one-of-one look. Flagstone gives a rustic, earthy surface that handles heat and freeze well. Travertine is the premium pick, it stays cooler underfoot, reads high-end, and matches travertine pool coping so the patio and pool edge look like one space. Bluestone and Oklahoma stone give a true one-of-one finish.

Whatever the surface, the patio is won or lost on the base underneath. Laid on bare dirt, a patio cracks and heaves within a couple years. We build every one on a compacted base, or a set bed for some stone, with a slight slope away from the house and edge restraints that lock everything together, so Texas downpours run off the surface.

We skip stamped concrete as a primary surface. It cracks early, and pavers cost about the same and last far longer.

A patio usually attaches to other work. Doing it alongside an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit, a retaining wall, or matching pool coping carries the materials through and keeps one crew on it.

We cover all of DFW, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, and Frisco. Every project starts with a free on-site estimate, samples brought to the property.

What our clients say

Lalo is super knowledgeable and helpful. He's always answered all my questions and been my go-to guy for anything pool related. Can't recommend him enough.

Homeowner, Dallas TX

These guys did our whole pool retile in four days. Showed up on time every morning, cleaned up every evening. The pool looks better than when it was new.

Homeowner, Plano TX

We've used Lalo's on three builds now. They just get it done. No drama, no excuses. That's hard to find with subs.

Pool Builder, DFW

Lalo came out himself to look at our coping. Didn't try to upsell us on stuff we didn't need. Just told us what needed fixing and gave us a fair price.

Homeowner, Fort Worth TX

Had another company do our tile and it started falling off after one summer. Lalo's crew came in, tore it out, and redid the whole thing. Should have called them first.

Homeowner, Garland TX

Honest people, quality work. That's it. That's the review.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the material you pick and the size of the space, pavers cost less than natural stone like flagstone, travertine, or bluestone. The biggest cost driver is the base underneath. We measure your yard on site and give you a fixed price.

Pavers give you a lower cost, fully repairable surface that flexes with the soil. Natural stone, flagstone or travertine, gives you a custom one-of-one look and a higher-end feel. We bring samples of both to the estimate so you see them against your house.

For DFW soil, yes. A poured slab cracks in a hard line when the ground moves. Pavers flex independently and stay tight, and a damaged paver lifts out and gets replaced without redoing the whole patio. Pavers also resist cracking far better than stamped concrete.

A standard residential patio usually runs about a week on site. Larger or coordinated scope with a kitchen or fire feature takes longer. We give firm start and finish dates at the estimate.

Yes. Tear-out, proper base prep, drainage correction, and a new paver or stone install, all as one project. The old base usually is not salvageable, and a full rebuild gives you decades of life.
