Stone Veneers in Fort Worth by Lalo's Tile & Coping

A plain brick or siding front on a Fort Worth home reads flat next to the stone homes around it, and stone veneer is how you change that without rebuilding the wall. We face home fronts, entry columns, chimneys, and outdoor kitchen surrounds in natural or manufactured stone.

Natural stone is heavier and reads as real because it is, and on the west side that usually means native limestone. Manufactured stone is lighter, more affordable, and has come a long way on looks.

What goes behind the stone decides whether it lasts. Veneer isn't waterproof, so a wall needs a weather-resistant barrier, a drainage layer, and weep vents at the base so any water that gets behind the stone has a path back out. Set it straight onto sheathing with no drainage detail and it traps moisture and rots the wall behind it, which is what most of the failed veneer we've torn off got wrong. We detail the moisture path before the first stone goes up.

Some jobs are set with a grout line between the stones, others are dry-stacked tight with no visible joint for a cleaner, flatter look. Both hold up outdoors. For columns and freestanding stone, the footing has to carry the weight. Fort Worth's west side often gives a firmer base than the clay elsewhere in the county, and we size the footing for the soil so a rigid stone face doesn't crack.

Stone veneer pairs with retaining walls and the rest of our stonework when you're working a sloped lot or a ranch-style front yard, since one crew matching the stone keeps it all reading as one project.

What our clients say

Lalo is super knowledgeable and helpful. He's always answered all my questions and been my go-to guy for anything pool related. Can't recommend him enough.

Homeowner, Dallas TX

These guys did our whole pool retile in four days. Showed up on time every morning, cleaned up every evening. The pool looks better than when it was new.

Homeowner, Plano TX

We've used Lalo's on three builds now. They just get it done. No drama, no excuses. That's hard to find with subs.

Pool Builder, DFW

Lalo came out himself to look at our coping. Didn't try to upsell us on stuff we didn't need. Just told us what needed fixing and gave us a fair price.

Homeowner, Fort Worth TX

Had another company do our tile and it started falling off after one summer. Lalo's crew came in, tore it out, and redid the whole thing. Should have called them first.

Homeowner, Garland TX

Honest people, quality work. That's it. That's the review.

FAQ

Stone Veneers in Fort Worth, answered

Natural stone is heavier, reads as real, and costs more, and on the west side that often means native limestone to match homes already built in stone. Manufactured stone is lighter, more affordable, and now looks close.

Stone veneer isn't waterproof. It fails when it's set with no drainage layer behind it, trapping water against the wall until the sheathing rots. We install a weather-resistant barrier, a drainage layer, and weep vents at the base so water that gets behind the stone drains back out.

Yes. Native limestone is common across the west side, and we source stone that reads with what's already on your house. Dry-stack in matching limestone is a common request here.

Setting the stone with a grout line between them gives a traditional look. Dry-stack sets them tight with no visible joint for a cleaner face. Both work outdoors in Fort Worth. It comes down to the look you want, and we set either.
