In Frisco, a lot of retaining wall work comes with the build. Lots in Phillips Creek Ranch, Hollyhock, Newman Village, and Lawler Park get graded into the slope, and the wall is what holds that grade so the yard sits level. The rest is finish work, seat walls and raised planters that shape a new backyard.
Frisco sits on the same Blackland clay as the rest of Collin County, but fresh fill on a new lot keeps settling for a few years after the house is done, and new subdivisions often drain toward each other and the creeks running through. Every wall we build gets gravel backfill and a drain line so the water has somewhere to go.
We build in segmental block, natural stone, and poured concrete. Block is the usual choice for holding grade, natural stone suits a finished patio, and poured concrete handles the heavier loads. We bring samples to the lot.
Once a wall goes over about four feet, or it's holding a real load like a tier above the house, Frisco wants engineered drawings and a permit, and we build to that. We tell you on site which side of the line your wall is on.
Price tracks height, length, and material, including the drainage that makes a wall last. We measure it and quote it on site.
On the graded lots common in newer Frisco builds, terracing the drop into two or three shorter walls usually holds better than one tall wall and gives you flat, usable space.
Most of it ties into the rest of the backyard, a nearby pool tile replacement or the rest of what we do across Frisco. Compare retaining walls in Plano nearby. Fill out the form for a free on-site estimate. We measure it, we quote it.

FAQ
Retaining Walls in Frisco, answered
It depends on height, length, and material, including the drainage and backfill. A low seat wall costs less; a tall engineered wall holding grade costs more for the footing, drainage, and engineering. We measure it and quote it on site.
Once a wall is over about four feet or holds a load like a graded slope or driveway, Frisco wants engineered drawings and a permit. Smaller decorative walls usually do not need one. We handle the engineering and permit when the wall calls for it.
Height is not capped, but it changes the build. Over about four feet a wall has to be engineered, and on the graded lots common in new Frisco builds we will often terrace it into shorter walls, which holds better and gives you flat space.
Segmental block is the common pick for holding grade because it flexes with the clay. Natural stone looks best alongside a patio and ties into the rest of the stonework. Poured concrete handles the heaviest loads. We go over what fits your lot when we come out.
Usually drainage, even on newer walls. If there is no gravel and no drain pipe behind it, wet clay builds pressure until the wall leans. On Frisco lots the fresh fill and runoff make it worse. We drain every wall from the start, which is what keeps it standing.
