Fire pits and outdoor fireplaces extend your usable backyard well into Dallas's mild winters — and they add real property value. We've built fire features across Lakewood, Preston Hollow, Bluffview, and the rest of Dallas for over 20 years, and we've seen what holds up and what doesn't.

The most common Dallas fire feature we build is a circular gas fire pit with travertine or natural limestone surround, integrated into a patio space or near the pool. We also build linear fire tables, full outdoor fireplaces, and fire bowls integrated into pool walls or raised spa surrounds.

Fire features have to handle two stressors: extreme heat from the fire itself and Texas's freeze-thaw cycle. The wrong stone cracks. The wrong mortar fails. We use heat-rated materials, proper footings rated for the local soil, and follow NFPA clearance requirements on every install.

Most Dallas fire pit projects pair with pool work, an outdoor kitchen, or patio stonework. One materials palette across everything makes the backyard look like it was designed, not collected. If we're doing the pool work too, we match the fire pit stone to the pool coping so the whole space reads as one.

Gas is the most common configuration — easy to use, easy to turn off, no smoke management. We build the stone and masonry; gas line connection runs through a licensed plumbing sub. Wood-burning fire pits are still popular in larger backyards and we build those too.
